Yolanda M. Guadarrama

Tiny Bio | Yolanda M. Guadarrama, Mexican artist and creator, has carved her path in the art world for the past three decades. As a co-founder of Revista and Editorial MOHO in 1989 alongside Guillermo Fadanelli, she has challenged artistic conventions by incorporating nods to Dada and "trash" content. Her body of work spans from editing and designing books and magazines to ventures into contemporary dance and dance film.

Tiny Statement | The work 'Pop Pain: Self-Portrait of Strength' emerges as a visual and visceral testimony of my personal experience in the face of chronic degenerative diseases affecting my body. In the tradition of Frida Kahlo, this piece merges pop aesthetics with the raw authenticity of my own journey. By embracing Frida's obsession, an icon of struggle and expression through art amidst pain, I seek to explore my own relationship with suffering and physical wear.
